The mental anguish of having push-ups ahead of me is enough to get me to correct a pile of papers or empty the dishwasher. With the possible exception of a pull-up, I don’t know if there’s an exercise I dread more than the push-up.
So I am really looking forward to completing my challenge of doing 50 consecutive push-ups. When I started the challenge back in February, I had serious doubts that 50 were possible for me, but now I am starting to have faith.
Today I did 44.
On the last one, my arms were wobbling dramatically. My husband deemed my form “minimally adequate.” (Thanks, hon!)
Some stats from this challenge:
- Number of weeks: 21
- Number of push-ups: 4,580
- Percentage increase in maximum number: 528
- Weeks I have been stuck on “Week 5, Day 1″ (hundredpushups.com): 6
- Number of other unpleasant chores I have done while avoiding push-ups: 142
Part 4: Collapse one push-up from goal
