The voice in my head is now set to music.
“Don’t be! Too timid and-d squeamish…”
All I had asked for was a few seconds of original music that I could use in the beginning of a video. Make it a little funky, a little bluesy, with a BUMP-BUMP (don’t-be), ba-da-ba, ba-da-ba (too-tim-id and-squea-mish) motif. And just listen to what my husband came up with:
My Theme Song: “(Don’t Be) Too Timid and Squeamish”
(If there is no mp3 player embedded above, try here and click the attachment.)
I’m pretty mystified by anyone’s ability to do this. I have played around a bit on GarageBand and couldn’t get anything that approached sounding like a real song.
An added perk? Guess what I heard downstairs on a hectic, darkened school-day morning? It doesn’t get much better during those early-morning struggles than hearing my teenage boys singing my theme song.
What’s your theme song?
{Celebrate your courage. Send me a postcard.}

That’s great, Marcy! There’s a beat there where you’re not sure what’s going to happen next and then it starts again. A little surprise, just like your blog. If I could get my guy to make a diddy for me it would have to be something like The Monkees “Here she comes walkin’ down the street, step aside, cause…”(I;m not sure the rest but I like where it’s going). I’ll have to think about that a little more.
I didn’t know you were married to Randy Newman.
It’s great!!
I love it- almost had me dancin’. Happy Saturday.

Your husband rocks. Apparently opposites do NOT attract – you’ve both got tremendous creative talent.
Awww, and he got me chocolates today too.
