Endings and Beginnings: Day 30 of Posting Every Day for NaBloPoMo

While I enjoyed the challenge of posting every day in November and the new blogging friendships I made, blogging every day is not for me. I like blogging in bursts of enthusiasm, and I didn’t have something to say every day for a month.

I did appreciate the stretching of coming up with new things to post about, such as a favorite photo from my week or responding to something I heard on the news.

What I most enjoyed about it, though, was the heightened awareness that I wrote about halfway through, when I felt myself reflecting on the little moments that would have otherwise passed me by unnoticed.

With NaBloPoMo done and my 101 things list almost finished as well, I am looking forward to the new challenges I will be taking on.

I am with you. I prefer writing during bursts of inspiration but I did learn from NaBloPoMo and I think it’s what I needed to get writing more often. Happy last day!

Sorry about the above comment! Hit return accidentally! What I meant to say is ‘Thanks’ for sharing! I haven’t done the blog challenge (sort of caught on a little late), but I appreciate you sharing your insights. I think every day would be tough for me too, but I like how it made you more aware. I find that end up writing more when I have my eyes open and am ‘inspired.’ I’ve realized that I need to write pretty quickly after the ideas come, or they lose their ‘zing’ if I wait on them.

    Thanks for your tips!

I am the same way about my drafts usually. I would like to get more consistent in writing, and the challenge definitely helped with that.

Yay we did it! Blogging every day is not for me either!

I’m kinda glad in a way that NaBloPoMo is over, but I think it really challenged me to think about life and the way I live it and respond to it, in order to have something to post about. I am definitely glad to have found your blog, through being rowmies, and do plan on keeping up. And getting that postcard in the mail…I have ideas!! 😀

I agree, I’m not sure blogging every day is for me. I need some time in between posts to be inspired. I’m still glad I pushed myself though. 🙂

Yeah, I will settle back to once or twice a week, but I liked adding some photos and different types of posts than I usually do.

  7. Abby says:

Congratulations on making it to the finish! Having done the blog-everyday thing myself, I do think I prefer to not be under the gun to produce “something!” every day, but I did enjoy the increased frequency of your posts this month :). Now go put your feet up.
