Elephant Ride

Elephant ride Thailand 09

Our elephants are headed
for dense jungle at dawn.
Although they know the path well,
the old man goads them on.

And yet more than elephants
go on this steamy day.
My boys leave for adulthood,
while I goad them to stay.

I can’t believe how many cool things you’ve done. Do you ever thing about doing another crazy challenge?

Stacie, I think about that question all the time! I really loved working through my 101 things list, but I was so glad to be done with it, too, and not have it hanging over my head. I’ve been pretty unmotivated since finishing it, though. I’ve never been good at finding that happy medium. Thanks for your comment 🙂

  2. Sweet. I like the interplay of the two stanzas, the two goadings : )

Nice! I liked the double use of goad. And I really enjoyed seeing the photos! Baby elephants are so sweet!
